The Bastrop County Courthouse is located in Bastrop, Texas and was first constructed in 1883. The courthouse was designed in the Second Empire architecture style by Jasper Preston and Charles H. Page. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
The courthouse is made of brick and limestone, with a clock tower that is approximately 89 feet tall. The building originally housed the county jail and courtrooms and now houses county administrative offices and courtrooms.
In 2015, the courthouse underwent a $12.8 million restoration and renovation project to update the building's mechanical systems and restore the original architecture. Today, the courthouse is a popular spot for weddings and other special events due to its beautiful architecture and historic significance.
